NEWSFLASH: MIS-PRINT

The Boston Phoenix published a fantastic article on Thursday about the Brainwaves fest and Brainwashed.com, however, they stated tickets for Brainwaves were $300 for a weekend pass!!!  NO NO NO!  It's $75 for the three day weekend or $25 for any individual day.  Tickets can actually now be purchased ONLY at Twisted Village (in person, while supplies last) and through the Regent Theatre and at the door.  Tickets are off-sale from Brainwashed.com at this point.  See you there!

Brain Drain

With the Brainwaves fest this weekend, don't be surprised if Brainwashed's content isn't being published much over the weekend and early into the following week.  Perhaps the Podcast will not publish, but for those not attending the events, go through some of the archives, watch a video, listen to Brainwashed Radio.

Brainwashed Radio Feels the Heat

Sorry for the intermittent downtime on Brainwashed Radio these last few days. Record heat and power demand has caused a number of power outages at Brainwashed HQ so we'll do our best to keep the music going.  Thanks for your patience and support as always!

New Releases Update...

Our New Releases section is going through a bit of a transformation.  Greg Clow is retiring after years of service to the New Releases, leaving us with a mess of stuff to pick up.  At this point, if you're a label, band, or fan who wants to post appropriate new release information to our section, contact us.  We ONLY want Date, Artist, Title, Format, and Country. We do NOT want anything more or less (no images, descriptions, etc.).  We're also possibly removing the "TBA" section completely.  Thanks for your help.

BRAINWASHED.COM CALLS FOR THE DISMANTLING OF THE RIAA

The actions and arguments of the Recording Industry Association of America and some of its most powerful members exemplify a complete and utter disregard and contempt for the interests and behavior of musicians, independent record labels, and, most importantly, the music-buying public. The RIAA seeks to regulate the behavior of consumers and actors in a free market via unreasonable means and at their expense, financially and otherwise. Its claims of supporting "creative vitality" and "artists' rights" are disengenuous, as the RIAA represents the corrupt and exclusionary oligopoly of major record labels, Hollywood film studios, and corporate entertainment media outlets. That certain "indie" labels have membership in this association is not indicative of an RIAA looking out for their best interests.

Talkin' Boots

Help is being sought for a project on bootleg LPs.  Bootleg LPs are being defined here as material (usually live) that were not officially released by the band or their label at the time - which is different from "Pirate LPs" (reissues of previously released material).  We're only interested in vinyl LP releases and not CDs, cassettes, or anything other than a 12" LP.

A Call for Volunteers

Thanks to the efforts of so many, the new Brainwashed is live and working fine. However, we need volunteers with time to copy and paste old material (reviews/news/links/etc,...) into the new system.  There are still plenty of gaps to fill and the people who have helped out in big chunks have been rewarded with gifts from Brainwashed Recordings.
