Amsterdam-based Elisabeth Esselink has been recording and performing as Solex since 1997. It's a mishmosh of samples and musical genres, live instrumentation, and quirky, surreal vocals. Her fourth album, The Laughing Stock of Indie Rock is her first album released on her new Discmeister label, licensed to Arena Rock in North America. We talk about the changes in her music and the changes in the business as she takes more control of her music and finances following the departure from Matador.
