As posted on Moogmusic.com, Bob Moog died on Sunday afternoon at his home in Asheville, NC after a short battle with brain cancer. A public Memorial Celebration is planned for The Orange Peel for noon, Wednesday, August 24th. Fans and friends can also direct their sympathies or remembrances to Caring Bridge.

Nicoletta Stephanz, longtime friend of Legendary Pink Dots and close friend of Bob's has spent the last week in Asheville and wanted to say, "Bob Moog is one of the most humble, hilarious, warm, dynamic, genuine people I have ever been fortunate to have in my life. I know he has touched an amazing number of people in a profound way, whether through a brief meeting, his fantastic instruments, or long friendships. Bob will truly live forever through our memories and his instruments. Please join us at the Orange Peel at noon on Wednesday, August 24th, to celebrate Bob."
