Wire's offical record label and band site, Pinkflag.com got an overhaul this week. While there's not a lot of new information there, the site will allow for more timely updates. There's also a ton of links now to various places across the Internet with Wire content (hey, where did Brainwashed's Wire Sound/Video Archive go?)

from a PinkFlag email:

pinkflag.com site launch
After what has been an absolute age in the doldrums we are finally launching the brand-new expanded super version of pinkflag.com . The new version features brand new sections, including a gallery <http://www.pinkflag.com/look.php > and a place to download MP3s <http://www.pinkflag.com/listen.php > from various pinkflag releases, past present and future. The site also carries a discography <http://www.pinkflag.com/read.php > (each release has complete lyrics alongside), and a skeletal <http://www.pinkflag.com/read/gigography.php > gigography (a section we'd like to expand).

Our aim is to make this version the best and most comprehensive resource for Wire fans possible but that doesn't happen by launching a site and going back to sleep for 5 years! This new site is very much a work in progress and there are many ways in which it can expand with your help. Firstly the gigography is full of holes. Were you at one of the early shows marked with a question mark? Can you say for sure that a show thus marked did or didn't happen? Were you at a Wire show not mentioned? Or were you at a Wire show we weren't at? If the answer to any of the above is yes, we'd like to hear from you. Also, the gallery may expand in many ways so if you were at a Wire gig and took pictures (or even video) we'd like to hear from you. Maybe you are a professional photographer and you did a session with Wire and want to be able to have your images in a place where media organisations interested in Wire shots will be looking? If so we'd like to hear from you. You can get in touch through the feedback form on the site at <http://www.pinkflag.com/contact.php >.

Wire & the web
In our aim to make the pinkflag site the most comprehensive Wire resource on the internet we want to make sure that we are linked in to the most significant and/or interesting Wire resources that exist out there. We have provided a links <http://www.pinkflag.com/links.php > page (which has been doubling as our home page for the past few months while we develop this site) but of course this may not be as comprehensive as one would hope. Do you have any ideas for links? If so get in touch.

News, in the Wire world, is not just the doings of the band (although it may well be wise to keep a weather eye on the site for all developments there) but also anything that relates to it. For example "crazy" YouTube fan videos or mentions in absurd or interesting places. If you come across such an item please don't hesitate to let us know so we can share this through the news items. Let us know through the feedback form on the site at <http://www.pinkflag.com/contact.php >.

And Finally
This newsletter & the web site are complimentary resources. To keep abreast of Wire & and all it's doings we would recommend checking pinkflag.com regularly as well as being signed in to the mailing list. This way you won't miss out on exciting developments to come as the inference has doubtless escaped your notice that more than a web site is being re-launched here...

The pinkflag.com will has a feedback form at <http://www.pinkflag.com/contact.php > so you can send messages to pinkflag & to wire.
